What influenced you to buy the property?

Location, location, location! You can ride to JCU and the hospital in less than 10 minutes. It is also close to the river, which means easy access for walks and bike rides.  We loved that the house was carefully maintained by the previous owners.

What advantages are there in living in your home?

Too many to mention. The neighbours in this street are wonderful. Very friendly. It’s a quiet street and quiet area in general. It’s also so convenient – the Yolanda Drive shops are about a 3 minute walk away (Doctors, chemist, corner shop, bottle shop, pool shop, and fish and chip shop!). There is heaps of storage in this house, and it’s been renovated so it has a wonderful modern feel. The kitchen is amazing, and the storage in the front room was mind blowing when we moved in. We didn’t know whether we could ever fill it up! We also like that this house feels really safe and secure. One of the best things about this house is the pawpaw tree out the back. We have not had to buy a pawpaw in all the time we’ve lived here. It yields delicious red pawpaw. Divine!

When family or friends visit, what do they point out as the benefits of your home?

The kitchen, the front room, the polished tiles, and the storage. Also, the butterflies. The beautiful gardens have been deliberately designed to attract butterflies. A recent visitor to our house pointed out that the garden is very similar to the Butterfly Garden at Singapore airport! This house has a lovely tropical feel, but is low maintenance.
