Start by thinking back to when you originally purchased your property
Q - What influenced you to buy the property ?A – When I first walked into the house around 35 years ago, the breeze coming through the lounge room windows welcomed me in such a way that I still remember it. I loved the Queenslander feel of the whole place – up on stilts; windows designed to catch the tropical breezes; a large multi-purpose, casual under the house area. The openness of the living area (lounge and dining room) was also very attractive to me. Also, the large block of land immediately had me thinking about the various ways I could use it.
Q - What advantages are there in living in your home?A - It offers a comfortable, secure sanctuary. Situated in a dead-end street, it is wonderfully quiet and private, while actually being within easy distance of the City. There’s a real community feel in a very pleasant neighbourhood.
Q - When family or friends visit, what do they point out as the benefits of your home?A – They mention the atmosphere of the house itself. Someone once said to me: “It has a personality all of its own” Visitors remark on how cool, quiet and comfortable the house is.The kitchen is one room that visitors remark on very favourably.
Q - What are the 5 best things about your house
1. Large block of land with self-maintaining native garden.
2. Lots of casement windows that maximise the breezes.
3. A feeling of safety & security.
4. Timber kitchen – compact and convenient.
5. Solidly built with many original features of the period,Eg. Polished pine floors, period lighting, period latches & handles on doors & windows.

After 3 ½ decades, I’m very sad to be leaving my lovely home, but age forces us to make changes even when we’d rather not.
